As kids, playing around her was their favorite thing to do.. after all, she told them stories when they ran her tiny errands.. every evening they would walk out murmuring and laughing over how forgetful she was and that they could see the glasses on her head all the while when she was looking for them… eyes on the newspaper, she heard them and smiled!
Years went by and they grew up.. went on to become engineers, doctors, entrepreneurs… had a family of their own and eventually kids… “Let’s go to some exotic place this vacation” the kids would demand every time…
Miles away, sitting on a rocking chair in the balcony of her now rustic and crooked apartment, she sits sipping her coffee… 20 years have passed on and she’s older than she was before… her blurry gaze still at the gate, she folds yet another letter that read,
Lots of stories are still unheard and this time I have just one errand for you to run…
Come Home!
This Valentine’s Day, let’s revisit our older valentines…ditch that fancy candle light dinner and grab those trembling hands for a cozy evening walk down the memory lane!
This is in response to the daily prompt Heard!
Love!
I hit the like button at the end of the first para itself. Little did I know that this impromptu piece was going to make me misty eyed by the time I reached its end. Beautiful…. I’m short on words but full of emotions

I had one grandmother growing up, but she has passed away many decades ago. Even when I was a young adult she would love my visits so much. I miss those visits too. Reading this it is nice to go back “memory lane”, picture her weathered face and smile that warms a room! π

Hi,
1. I met you through Danny Ray. He featured you in his “Blog Networking” post which is how I found you.
2. What an engaged community you’ve built, congratulations.
3. I can’t remember what I did for Valentine’s Day. My husband and I went out I think. My favorite is the year we took the dogs with us and ate outside.
4. Maybe you can check out my blog if you need any blogging tips. That’s what I blog about.
